YYICR)l if" % IIIIHA August 20, 2013 Campus Crest Communities 2100 Rexford Road #414 Charlotte, North Carolina 28211 Attention: Mr. Mark Kendall Subject: Construction Materials Testing and Observations The Grove at Fort Collins Building Number 1 Fort Collins, Colorado Martinez File No. 12-0015-001 Martinez Associates Quality Control & Materials Testing As requested, Martinez Associates, LLC (Martinez) performed construction materials testing and observation services during construction of Building Number 1 at the referenced project. These services were performed between November 20, 2012 and December 27, 2012 on an as requested basis. Martinez performed the following services: • Performed compaction and moisture content tests at representative locations during building post -tensioned slab -on -grade subgrade preparation; • Observed reinforcing steel placement for number of bars, size,lap length, and concrete cover for grade beams and post -tensioned slab -on -grade in general accordance with approved structural engineering plans; • Observed post -tensioned cables for size, location, and spacing in the slab -on -grade in general accordance with the approved structural engineering plans; • Observed the stressing of the post -tension cables per the project plans and specifications and submitted the results for review and acceptance; and, • Sampled and tested freshly mixed concrete in the field and performed compressive strength tests on concrete samples in the laboratory from concrete placed for grade beams and post - tensioned slab -on -grade. Based on our observations and test results, it is our opinion that the construction materials at the observed and tested locations were in general accordance with applicable project plans and specifications at the time of our observations and tests. This report has been prepared for the exclusive use of our client for specific application to the project discussed and has been prepared in accordance with generally accepted practices. No warranty, express or implied, is provided. In the event that any information furnished to us, as outlined in this report, is inaccurate or changes, the conclusions and recommendations contained in this report shall not be considered valid unless the changes are reviewed and the conclusions of this report modified or verified in writing by the engineer.
