Re: Deck Framing observation at rear of Home at 823 Hilldale Drive, Fort Collins, CO
Crown Engineering, llc. Project No. 153-02-03-02
Dear Mr. Fraser:
As requested, we have visually observed the framing of the main level deck and pergola being
constructed at the rear of the residence at the above referenced location.
It is our opinion that the framing of the deck and pergola, the supporting posts and the concrete
foundations are in general conformance with the recommendations by Crown Engineering, llc.
The framing is adequate to support the general residential load requirements of 40 psf. live load
and 10 psf. dead load.
The conclusions and recommendations presented in this letter are based solely on our visual
review of portions of the described structure. Our review was limited to the items described in
this letter and is not intended to cover mechanical, electrical, environmental, mold, site grading,
architectural, or other structural features of the building unless noted otherwise.
Thank you for consulting with us on this phase of the project. If you have any questions, please
do not hesitate to contact me at (970) 691-4239.
Sincerely,
Grown

Re: Excavation & Steel Reinforcing Observation of Caissons for Deck and Pergola addition
at 823 Hilldale Drive, Fort Collins, CO
Crown Engineering, llc. Project No. 153-02-03-03
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Fraser:
As requested, we have visually observed the caisson excavations at the above referenced
location. The purpose of this observation was to verify that the bearing capacity of the soil is
adequate for the support of the deck and pergola additions at the above referenced residence.
At the time of our observation, the excavation of the pier holes had been completed. The
excavations revealed light to medium brown, slightly sandy clays to the depths excavated, which
was to approximately 30" below finished grade. The pier sizes and pier steel reinforcing was
observed to be in general conformance with the plans drawn by Crown Engineering, llc. Job No.
153-02-03-01, dated January 17, 2103.

review of portions of the described structure. Our review was limited to the items described in
