On July 13 and 16, 2012, a representative of Northern Colorado Geotech performed site visits to
observe the excavation for a residence under construction at the above referenced site in Fort Collins,
Colorado.
The soil exposed at the upper and lower footing levels consisted of sandy lean clay with gravel.
These materials are similar to those encountered by Northern Colorado Geotech during our
subsurface exploration at the site (Project No. 139-11, dated December 27, 2012). Based on our
observations and the recommendations of the geotechnical engineering report, it is our opinion that
the proposed residence may be supported by a spread footing foundation system. The foundation
should be designed in accordance with the recommendations and specifications provided in the
geotechnical engineering report.
Groundwater or bedrock was not encountered within two feet of the lower footing level. 'However, as
a precaution, we recommend the installation of an exterior perimeter drain around the lower level of
the structure. The dewatering system should be constructed in accordance with recommendations of
the geotechnical engineering report.

Re: Footings and Foundation Wall Steel Observation

Gentlemen:
On July 20, 26 and August 21, 23, 27 & 29, 2012 a representative of Weeks &
Associates observed footings and foundation wall steel at the referenced site.
Observations indicate the footing sizes and foundation steel reinforcement are in
substantial accordance with the engineered foundation plan for the project by Weeks &
Associates. In addition, the electrode had been placed in accordance with the
recommendations by NEC.

Gentlemen:
On August 1, 2012 Weeks & Associates observed the perimeter drain at the referenced
site. Observations indicated a 4" diameter perforated pipe had been placed around
the exterior perimeter of the basement foundation and sloped to the sump pit in the
basement. The drainpipe installation is in substantial accordance with the perimeter
drain recommendations for the project. In addition, the exterior of the basement
foundation walls had been damproofed.
