We have visually observed the footing sizes for the addition under construction at the residence at
the above referenced location This observation was performed on July 29, 2008
It is our opinion that the footing sizes and widths were in general conformance with the foundation
plan, drawn by Crown Engineering, llc , Job No 50-01-04-01, dated June 12, 2008

Re Girder Truss change -out, 648 Heather Court, Fort Collins, CO

Gentlemen
As requested, we have reviewed the feasibility of changing out the girder truss as called out on the
foundation plan to a Microllam beam It is our opinion that a (3) 1-3/4" x 16" Microllam beam can
be used in lieu of the girder truss The three-ply beam should be screwed together with (3) rows of
1/4" x 3-1/2" screws or lag screws at 12" on center

Re Excavation Observation for 648 Heather Ct , Fort Collins, CO

Gentlemen
On July 29, 2008, we visually observed the excavation at the above referenced location The
purpose of this observation was to verify that the bearing capacity of the soil is adequate for the
support of the foundation as shown on the foundation plan by Crown Engineering, llc, project
number 50-01-04-01, dated June 12, 2008
At the time of our observation, the excavation had been completed The excavation revealed
brown, slightly sandy lean clays to the depths excavated, which was to approximately frost depth
level
The subsurface conditions exposed in the excavation appears to be suitable for the placement of
the foundation as designed by Crown Engineering, llc

We have visually observed the wall reinforcing placed in the forms for the addition under
construction at the above referenced location This observation was performed on July 30, 2008
It is our opinion that the reinforcement was in general conformance with the foundation plan, drawn
by Crown Engineering, llc , Job No 50-01-04-01
