On July 5, 95, Empire Laboratories, Inc. observed the foundation excavation for the fence
column pads at an office building under construction at Lot 3, OakRidge Business Park, 17th
Filing, Fort Collins, Colorado
The exposed soil at the foundation level is lean clay with sand. This soil is similar to that
described in our "Report of a Geotechnical Investigation" prepared for the project and dated
October 3, 1994. Based on our observations, it is recommended that the fence columns be
supported by a conventional -type spread footing foundation system designed in accordance
with the recommendations set forth in the geotechnical report.

Dear Mr. Drahota:
Enclosed are in -place field density test results obtained by our personnel after placement in
the areas identified at the above -referenced project.
The' field Aensity test results were obtained utilizing a nuclear moisture density gauge are
included, along with the maximum density and optimum moisture data developed for the
material being placed. The tests were performed in general accordance with the test
procedures. referenced on the attached reports.
