"Geotechnical Engineering Report," by PSI, Project No. 532-95108,dated September 2,1999 2. "Moisture Density Compaction Test Results," by PSI, Project No. 534-86002 In accordance with the recommendations outlined in the referenced report, an observation was made of the foundation excavation on the referenced date for the purposes of confirming the geotechnical engineering and foundation recommendation for the subject site. Based upon the subsurface conditions observed, and the testing completed in the referenced report, the soils on the site should be considered expansive. Other than the expansive soils identified, no other significant geologic hazards which would preclude construction were identified during this or the previous referenced evaluations. The recommended foundation construction details for the site are outlined below. Based upon the results of this observation, a Tvoe D (Pads) foundation system should be used. The foundation system design and construction should conform to the recommendations contained in the referenced report. Interior floor construction recommendations as outlined in the referenced report under Interior Floor Support should be followed. A drain system should be provided around all below grade habitable floor space areas as recommended in the referenced report. Other design and construction details outlined in the referenced report for expansive soils should be followed. The homeowner should be advised of the recommendations concerning landscaping of the site, maintenance, and irrigation which are also discussed in the referenced report.
