On March 22. 2000, a representative of Scott. Cos & Associates; Inc. conducted visual spot
observations of the drilling and installation of the ten (10) inch diameter piers for the new, residence
under construction at Lot 18; Block 2, Stanton Creek, (6908 Saint Thomas Drive). a subdivision of Fort
Collins. Colorado. The purpose of these observations was to assure that the piers were drilled correctly
for the subsurface conditions encountered and to assure that the piers were constructed according to the
specifications on the foundation plan by Scott. Cox & Associates. Inc.. Project No: 1197-41-07-01.
The pier drilling operations encountered claystone bedrock at the base of the various excavation levels.
The piers xN ere drilled a total minimum length of nineteen (19) feet with a minimum bedrock
embedment of thirteen (13) feet; whichever was greater. Groundwater levels were not encountered in
the borings. Concrete was being placed with end dumping through the concrete chute and reinforcing
steel was being installed in each pier.
As a result of our observations. it is our opinion that the construction of those piers observed were in
general conformance with the plans and specifications. If you have any questions about our
