Gentlemen:
We have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch
diameter, straight shaft piers supporting the residence under
construction at Lot 5, The Ramparts at Miramont (908 Pinnacle
Place), a subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection
was performed on December 23, 1996.
Exposed soils measured from original grade consist of two (2) feet
of silty clay over a silty claystone bedrock which extends tot he
depths drilled, approximately twelve (12) feet.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned and of adequate
length as specified on our foundation plan, Job No. 2159-07-01-01.
Water was encountered during drilling. Therefore, we recommend
concrete be placed immediately after drilling of each individual
caisson. Casing was not required.
