An observation was made of the footing forms, prior to placement of concrete, at the subject site on the referenced date.
The soils exposed in the excavation were capable of supporting design pressures as recommended in the above referenced
documents. The soils exposed in the excavation and the type of foundation under construction are consistent with the
recommendations presented in the above referenced documents.
The footing excavations were clean and dry at the time of the observation.

In accordance with the recommendations outlined in the referenced report and letter, an observation was made of the foundation
excavation on the referenced date for the purposes of confirming the geotechnical engineering and foundation recommendation for
the subject site. Based upon the subsurface conditions observed, and the testing completed in the referenced report and letter, the
soils on the site should be considered expansive. The recommended foundation construction details for the site are outlined below.
Based upon the results of this observation and the referenced report, a Type D ( Footing Pads) foundation system should be used.
The foundation system design and construction should conform to the recommendations contained in the referenced report.
A drain system should be provided around all below grade habitable floor space areas as recommended in the referenced report.
Other design and construction details outlined in the referenced report for expansive soils should be followed. The homeowner
should be advised of the recommendations concerning landscaping of the site, maintenance, and irrigation which are also
discussed in the referenced report. Please call if further observations are required.
