On September 7, 2000, a representative from Terracon observed the foundation excavation for the
referenced lot at 806 Shore Pine Court, as requested.
The soil conditions exposed within the upper foundation level consisted of dark organic topsoil.
The soil conditions exposed at the lower foundation level consisted of sandy lean clay and sandy
clay. These soils are similar to those encountered in our subsurface exploration conducted at the
site in March of 2000. For further information and findings thereof, please refer to our
"Geotechnical Engineering Report" dated March 16, 2000, project number 20005047. Based on
our observations, it is recommended the structure be supported by a spread footing foundation
system designed in accordance with the recommendations set forth in the Geotechnical
Engineering Report.
At the time of the observation, no groundwater was encountered within two feet of the basement
foundation level. However, based on recommendations set forth in the Geotechnical Engineering
Report, it is our opinion a dewatering system should be placed around the lower level of the
structure. The drainage system should be designed and constructed in accordance with the
recommendations set forth in the report.
Sincerely,
