Dear Paul,
City records indicate that you are the original construction contractor of the above referenced address, and
as such, are responsible for assuring code compliance from all sub -tradesmen. This letter is to notify you
that I have performed an inspection of this property on July 14, 1998, and have found the following
violations -
► The final inspection stated that the front door exterior stairs required a handrail. No handrail has
been installed at this time.
► All of the installed electrical switches are provided with a factory "grounding terminal'. Ground
wires were not installed at these terminals.
► The master bedroom whirlpool tub has not been protected by a "ground fault circuit interrupter"
► Access to the whirlpool tub is in -adequate for service and removal of the tub motor.
I am now requiring that you verify that all corrections have been made within 30 days of receipt of this
letter. A re -inspection of all finals will be required.
Based on the owners comments to me, I would believe that un-licensed and un-trained electricians were sent
to work on this project, in violation of state law governing electricians, -this would-mclude_employees -of the
Light Center sent to install back ordered light fixtures. Since my inspectors can not possibly see every facet
of construction, I rely heavily on our licensing ordinance and state laws to provide a level of confidence in
workmanship of the sub -trades, and it is here that you, as the contractor of record, must assure that only
qualified individuals work on your projects.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Please contact me when corrections have been made.
