Box 9681 Fort Collins, Colorado 80525 Gentlemen: We have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch & sixteen (16) inch dia,ieter, straight shaft piers supporting the residence at Lot 2, Paragon Point 4th (6107 Pheasant Road), a subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection was performed on August 19, 1997. Exposed soils measured from original grade consist of nine (9) feet of sandy clay over a sandy claystone bedrock which extends to the depths drilled. All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned and of adequate length and penetration as specified on our foundation plan, Job No. 1204-30-01-01. Water was encountered during drilling. Therefore, we recommend that concrete be placed immediately after drilling of the caisson. Casing was not required.
