Gentlemen:
We have inspected the open excavation at Lot 40, Huntington Hills
Fourth Filing (6107 Melrose Court), a subdivision of Fort Collins,
Colorado. This inspection was performed on August 12, 1996.
Exposed soils indicate the use of a drilled pier and grade beam
type foundation system designed in accordance with the soils report
performed by EEC, Job No. 1942005, dated February 1, 1994. No
water was encountered to a depth of approximately six (6) feet.
Due to the measured depth of bedrock below footing elevation, it
is our opinion that an exterior perimeter drain is required for
this structure.

Gentlemen:
We have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch
diameter, straight shaft piers supporting the residence under
construction at Lot 40, Huntington Hills Fourth Filing (6107
Melrose Court), a subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado. This
inspection was performed on August 21, 1996.
Exposed soils measured form original grade consist of a shaley
siltstone bedrock which extends to the depths drilled,
approximately twelve (12) feet.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned and of adequate
length as specified on the foundation plan drawn by KDR Homes, Job
No. 2396A. No water was encountered during drilling. Therefore,
we recommend concrete be placed immediately after drilling of the
individual caissons.
