This letter is to advise that a request by Trumbull Preschool is now being
considered by the City of Fort Collins. At this time, I cannot give approval
without contingency.
This City has only recently (October 14) passed a completely new Zoning
Ordinance. Preschools, day care centers, etc., were inadvertently not in-
cluded in any zoning category as permitted uses. For this reason, we do
not as individuals have authority to approve such an application as the
one submitted. The property in question is now zoned in a category known as
RM, Medium Density Residential. It is entirely possible the City Council
will include uses such as Mrs. Trumbull's Preschool in this "RM" District.
Several questions of this nature are pending. It is my recommendation to
issue the license, subject to proper provision for this use in the zone
where located.
Mrs. Trumbull is aware of the circumstances and has been most patient and
cooperative. We should have the matter taken care of within a very few weeks.
