Gentlemen:
We have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch
diameter, straight shaft piers supporting the residence under
construction at -Lot 18, The Overlook at Woodridge, P.U.D., First
Filing (4425 Viewpoint), a subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado.
This inspection was performed on October 10, 1991.
Exposed soils consist of six (6) to eight .(8) feet of stratified
gravelly sand over a silty claystone bedrock, which extends to the
depths drilled, approximately eight (8) feet.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned, and of adequate
length as specified on our foundation plan, Job No, 1419-02-01-02.
No water was encountered during drilling. Although, casing was not
required, we recommend that concrete be placed 'immediately after
drilling of each individual caisson.
