Per Glen Wahlberg's request we have reviewed the referenced project concerning the beam
required to support the existing floor and roof at the entry to the new kitchen. It is our opinion
(2) 1-3/4" x 9-1/4" LVL should be used, continuous over two spans of approximately 5'-0" and
7'-6". The beam should be supported on 3-2x4 studs at each end, and on 3-2x6 studs at the
interior support. Shift door to pantry as required. Provide solid blocking below posts to
foundation.
