ELI Project No. 20956039
Gentlemen:
As requested, an engineer from Empire Laboratories, Inc. has reviewed the feasibility of placing
a window in the second story frame wall at the east end of the building at the above -referenced
location.
It is our understanding the east wall is a nonbearing gable end wall. Based upon the loads and
proposed 5-foot wide by 4-foot tall window, it is our opinion it is feasible to cut the window into
the existing 2"x6" frame wall. It is recommended that a 2-2"x10" header be placed across the
top of the opening bearing on a single 2"x4",each end of the header.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
