Mr. Bennett:
At your request, and in general accordance with the plans and specifications, LARSEN Structural
Design personnel performed structural observations at the above referenced property. Any
deficiencies in the work are noted below and were coordinated with the project contractor and/or
subcontractor for remediation while on site. The following items were observed.
April 8 2009 Concrete footing reinforcing_
The perimeter footing foundations were formed and reinforcing was located in the counterforts
and pad footings. Only some reinforcing steel was placed in the interior pad footings. These
interior pads are to be placed with the foundation walls. Footing dowels are to be `wet -set'.
The reinforcing steel is in substantial accordance with the construction documents.
April 13 2009 Foundation wall rein orcing:
All reinforcing steel has been placed in the walls and counterforts. The front entry stem walls
are formed, with the exception of the angle site wall. Also, the rear porch column pilaster has
not been formed. The interior pad footing reinforcing is in place and these will be placed with
the walls. The reinforcing steel is in substantial accordance with the construction documents.
April 17 2009 Damp -proofing and perimeter drain:
Grey damp -proofing has been applied to the exterior face of all the basement foundation walls
including the wall between the house and garage.
A 4" perforated pipe has been installed continuously at the bottom of footing elevation around
the entire basement footprint. This pipe runs under the footing, into the basement, just south of
the counterfort in the garage.
