Technology P.U.D., Eighteenth Filing. The report analyzes the storm water runoff from the site and
' designs the on site detention pond. It also includes the design of the extension of the existing storm
drain in Drake Road.
The analyses and the design of the drainage facilities were performed in accordance with the
specifications set forth in the City of Fort Collins Storm Drainage Design Criteria Manual.

Dear Mr. Hamdan:
The following is the final storm drainage report for the Centre for Advanced Technology
P.U.D., Eighteenth Filing. It is located in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 23, Township 7 North, Range
69 West of the 6th P.M., Fort Collins, Colorado. The site contains 2.10 acres and is in the Spring
Creek Drainage Basin. The site is bounded on the East by the New Mercer Canal and the Norlarco
Office and on the South by West Drake Road. It is bounded on the West and North by an
undeveloped part of the Centre for Advanced Technology. The site has good ground cover of
grasses and it slopes from West to East at approximately 0.8%.
The site is in the Southeast comer of Basin A2 of the Centre for Advanced Technology
Master Plan prepared by R.B.D., Inc., dated February 1987. There is an existing 36 inch R.C.P.
storm drain at the Southeast comer of the site. A 21 inch R.C.P. storm drain will be extended West
to the West lime ofthe proposed Eighteenth Filing. Basin A2 encompass 7.56 acres and is proposed
to have 1.61 acre feet of onsite storm water detention. The release rate for Basin A2 is 1.37 cubic
feet per second.
It is proposed to construct a funeral home and its parking lot on the site. An access driveway
will be constructed along the West side of the site and be shared with the property to the West. A
storm water detention pond will be constructed in the Southeast comer of the site. It will detain the
difference between the two year historic runoff rate and the 100 year developed runoff rate for this
site and a 0.16 acre sub -basin lying North of the site which is also in Basin A2. The detention pond
will have a volume of 21,363 cubic feet with the high water line at elevation 5041.5. The pond will
release at the two year historic rate which is 0.54 cubic feet per second into the existing storm drain
manhole.
' The proposed 21 inch diameter storm drain in Drake Road will not be constructed at this time.
The City of Fort Collins Engineering Department has required that only interim improvements will
be constructed at this time. An interim right turn lane will be constructed at this time. No curb and
' gutter on Drake Road will be constructed at this time. The sidewalk will be constructed now. The
construction ofthe storm drain will be delayed until the permanent improvements to Drake Road are
done.

The runofffrom the offsite portion of Basin A2 will continue to sheet flow onto the site and
will pass through the detention pond at the historic undeveloped rate, into the 36 inch exiting storm
drain. In the case of a 100 year storm, the runoff from the offsite portion of Basin A2 will overflow
' the detention pond through the proposed spillway into Drake Road.
' Erosion control will be provided on this site. The site is in a moderate rainfall erodibility zone
and in a moderate wind erodrbility zone. A silt fence will be constructed along the West side of the
New Mercer Canal. The existing landscape berm along Drake Road will be maintained and will
' prohibit any silt from entering Drake Road. The detention pond will be constructed at the beginning
of the construction process and will be used as a sedimentation trap.
' This drainage report is in compliance with the City of Fort Collins Storm Drainage criteria to
the best ofmy knowledge. Ifyou have any questions regarding the drainage report or the grading and
' drainage plan, please call.
