HomeMy WebLinkAboutDrainage Reports - 06/12/1994r FINAL DRAINAGE REPORT OF REPLAT OF POUDRE PLAINS MAY 26, 1994 STEWART & ASSOCIATES, INC. 103 SOUTH MELDRUM STREET FORT COLLINS, COLORADO 80521 303/482-9331 FINAL DRAINAGE REPORT REPLAT OF POUDRE PLAINS The Replat of Poudre Plains is a subdivision that is located in the Northeast a of Section 9, Township 7 North, Range 69 West of the Sixth P.M., City of Fort Collins, County of Larimer, State of Colorado. Poudre Plains was a Larimer County approved subdivision that had not been developed. It was subsequently annexed to the City of Fort Collins. Poudre Plains is located in the West Vine Drainage Basin, according to the Major Drainageway Plan dated December 1980. It is located in a small sub - basin that includes the 5.6 acre subdivision and approximately 4.3 acres offsite. The offsite area draining onto Poudre Plains is adjacent along the west line of Poudre Plains. The area on the north side of Vine Drive is in a separate sub -basin. Vine Drive provides a natural barrier to runoff overtopping it in a 100-year storm. That runoff will continue east and enter the New Mercer Canal. The drainage from Poudre Plains will flow over land to the proposed detention pond in the southeast corner of the subdivision. It will be carried in the flow lines of the curb and gutter of Worth Briarwood Road and Plains Court. The runoff calculations were made using the Rational method and are included as a part of this report. The detention pond required volume was determined using the Mass Diagram, which is also included. The detention pond located on Tract "A" will be used until the 68-acre foot regional detention pond that is planned east of Taft Hill Road is built. When the regional pond is built, the Tract "A" detention easement would be vacated and two lots would be developed. Presently, however, the detention pond on Tract "A" will detain the difference between the two-year historic runoff and the 100-year developed runoff. That volume is 28,458 cubic feet, and it will release at a two-year historic rate of 1.29 cubic feet per second. The historic release will flow east out of the Tract "A" pond to the New Mercer Canal. The developer has acquired drainage easements from the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses and Amy Potter, the two land owners between the pond and the canal. The New Mercer Canal Company has approved the discharge into the canal. The site is in a high rainfall erodibility zone. The onsite detention pond will be provided as a sediment trap. Temporary straw bales will be used until the streets are ready for base material. A silt fence will be provided along the east property line for both wind and rainfall protection for the Kingdom Hall property. There will also be some temporary reseeding and mulching needed on the front yards of some of the lots in order to meet the effectiveness required. To the best of my knowledge, this report system are in com�plia�nnce/ with the current City Richard A. Rutherford, P.E. & L.S. enclosures and the design of this drainage of Fort Collins criteria.
