DRAINAGE REPORT
1802 NORTH COLLEGE AVENUE
The data developed in this report has established a position for a
variance in this "right by use" improvement. Currently, the .38—acre site
is being used as restaurant space with accompanying parking. There are
primarily two small basins within the site (.28 acres west, .10 acres east).
The east. basin will in no way be affected by this minor expansion. The west
basin will see the total impact of this 196 square feet being modified from
earth, currently, to an impervious surface. The remaining area of this
addition is merely replacing concrete 'and asphalt with roofing materials.
Currently, the west basin has an historic runoff of 1.5 c.f.s. from
a (10—year) minor storm. The major 100—year storm produces 2.0 c.f.s. When
' the runoff coefficient remains constant of .95, total runoff potential is
unaffected by the 196--square foot impervious addition. The fact'is that
this 196 square feet will yield an.empirically insignificant .03 c.f.s. when
looked at individually for a 100—year event.
This circumstance for storm drainage control will not result in any
change to the current non —problematic area. Consequently, with a total change
in impervious of less than 350 s.f., no detention is required. Additionally,
downspout location has not presented a problem in the past. The onl-- y location
change necessary or --this will discharge onsite as it had
historically. Erosion control for water and wind fall into a size which
does not require special consideratin for this minor project. Should any
questions arise during your review, please do not hesitate in contacting
me.
