HomeMy WebLinkAboutDrainage Reports - 05/15/198814" STORM DRAINAGE REPORT AUTO AVENUE MALL The Auto Avenue Mall development is a 3—acre site located at the northwest corner of South College Avenue and Kensington Drive. The site is to be developed as an automotive related business area. The composite C value is 0.85, allowable run—off is 0.5 c.f.s. per acre, or 1.5 c.f.s., and the required detention is 22,680 cubic feet. We propose to detain in the parking lots with drainage into area inlets. The area inlets will drain into the existing 36" storm drain running south along the west line of South College Avenue. The drainage will be carried through the site in 12" pipes, and then the allowable outflow into the 36" pipe will be controlled by a 20 square inch opening in an orfice plate. The outflow will be carried from the inlet box to the existing 36" pipe in 30 feet of 15" RCP. There will be no off —site run—off from the Target store to the north or from South College Avenue to the east. The storage units to the west may contribute a small amount of run—off from 0.1 acre of landscaped area. We plan to take the drainage from the north z of Kensington Drive from Mason to the entrance, a distance of 200 feet and an area of 0.12 acres. This water presently runs east to a catch basin at the beginning of the radius at College Avenue. The catch basin and radius must be removed to widen College Avenue, so we propose to pick up most of the water through the site. Then we can eliminate the need for a pan across the entrance. A catch basin will be constructed along the new curb on College Avenue. This new catch basin will pick up water from College and from the east 150 feet of the north 112 of Kensington Drive. Calculations of the quantities and sizes in this report are shown on the attached sheets, and the site and drainage patterns and quantities are shown on the attached map. COPI SOQ Phillip I.
