United Civil Design Group, LLC personnel conducted site visits during construction of the bioretention cells from 10/21/2014 to 10/23/2014 and a final closeout site visit on 6/30/2015. These site visits were documented with the attached "Construction Inpection Checklis for Bioretention Cells" and the photos that are attached to this letter. , In addition, we have calculated the water quality volume of the bioretention cells based on field measurements and survey provided by Stewart & Associates. The water quality volume required for this site was calculated at 293 cf and approximately 368 cf is being provided. The volume calculations are attached to this letter. It should be noted, that the original design proposed four separate bioretention cells to provide water quality. During construction, the design was revisited and it was determined that two bioretention cells could provide all of the necessary water quality treatment. This was discussed and approved by City of Fort Collins Stormwater staff prior to making the change in the field. It is our opinion that the bioreterition facilities were built in accordance with approved plans prepared by United Civil Design Group, LLC dated 7/10/2013. We may still be able to make the bioretention work with less volume on the surface. I'll take a look at it after I get the information back from the Stewart. Looks good! We can do the changes during the Site Cert. Thanks, Wes From: Sam Eliason fmailto:Sam. EliasonCcbUnitedCivil.coml Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2014 3:51 PM To: Wes Lamarque Subject: Remington Row: Bioretention Hi Wes, I just left you a voicemail, but thought I'd follow up with an email. I took a closer look at the Remington Row water quality and we can get all of the water quality volume out of the two bioretention areas adjacent to Remington Street without the two bioretention areas to the west. Here is the information on the calculations: The total water quality volume required for the bioretention ponds is 293 cf. In our original plans we were providing 317 cf in 4 locations. This volume was all calculated above the surface as shown below: PLD Al=51cf PLD B1 = 65 cf PLD A2=110cf PLD B2=91cf Now I would propose that we remove PLD Al and PLD Bl and utilize the volumes in the rock and pea gravel below the surface in PLD A2 and PLD B2. In this scenario we would provide 425 cf of volume. Here are the calculations: PLD A2 = 110 cf on the surface + 121 cf below the surface (347 sf * 14 inches * 30%) PLD B2 = 91 cf on the surface + 103 cf below the surface (295 sf * 14 inches * 30%) Let me know if this all makes sense to you or if you have any other questions. Also let me know how we should proceed to get this changed. Do I need to submit updated plans and report or can we take care of it with the site drainage certification? Feel free to call if you would like to discuss it in more detail. Thanks, Sam Eliason, PE, LEED AP UNITED CIVIL DESIGN GROUP, LLC 1501 Academy Ct.
