At the request of the City of Fort Collins Stormwater Utility Department, Nolte
Associates, Inc. survey gathered the following information on Tuesday, October 23,
2001:
1. Invert elevation of the 8" storm drain at the existing "boiler room" located
below the sidewalk on Walnut Street.
2. Location of storm sewer clean -out located at the northwest corner of the
Northern Hotel.
3. Location and invert of the 18" storm sewer and inlet in Walnut Street.
It is our understanding that the City of Fort Collins removed the storm sewer manhole
indicated as existing on the previously approved plans. When this removal was
completed, the 8" storm sewer was connected to a new 18" storm sewer and flows were
directed to" a new street inlet. The type of connection between the 8" and 18" is unknown
to us. The City of Fort Collins did install a clean -out with a pit and cover identified as
"water service".
The attached plan (sheet 2 of 3 from the approved plans) reflects record data that can be
gathered by a visual survey. Nolte Associates, Inc. did not size the 8" and 18" storm
drain, nor did we design the connection between the 8" and 18" storm drain. Our work
did not include documenting the location and nature of other utilities in the area.
