Jay Barber Fort Collins Stormwater Utility 700 Wood St. Ft.Collins, CO 80522 RE: Harmony Safeway Marketplace, Lot 8 Drainage Certification Project Number: 04-055.00 CER Dear Jay: STORMWATER JUN 10 2004 This drainage certification letter is to verify general compliance with the approved utility plans for "Harmony Safeway Marketplace, Lot 8", located at 1414 E. Harmony Road. Survey data was provided to Northern Engineering in May of 2004 by Enginineering Service -Co: Personal site inspection was conducted on June 9, 2004. Please find enclosed a drainage certification exhibit showing surveyed as -built elevations along with design elevation in the background. The design top of foundation elevation (which is equal to the finished floor elevation since the building foundation is slab on grade) was 4982.88. The surveyed as -built finished floor elevation is 4982.87. The surveyed as -built gutter and pan flowline elevations are within a reasonable tolerance in comparison to the approved plan. As -built drainage patters are in accordance with the approved plan. The curb cut at the southwest comer of the parking lot, as well as the curb cut in the center median of the parking lot have been constructed within reasonable tolerance of the approved plan. The area inlet located at the western end of the parking lot has been constructed with a larger area than that of the design. The design showed a rectangular inlet box with two 29"x36" grates (total area=14.5 sq.ft.), the box has been constructed as a square with four 25"x25" grates (total area=17.4 sq.ft.), thus the inlet perform satisfactorily. The design flowline elevation of the area inlet was 4978.74. The surveyed as -built flowline elevation of the inlet is 4978.63. No detention was required according to the approved final drainage report for the site. There are minor inconsistencies throughout the site; however, the performance of the drainage design, in my opinion, will not be hindered. To the best of my knowledge the major drainage improvements for Harmony Safeway Marketplace, Lot 8 are constructed in substantial compliance with the design intent of the approved construction drawings.
