As you may remember, the design of this project involved completion of a portion of the West Plum Street Basin drainage improvements as outlined in the recently updated master plan completed by Ayres & Associates in June of 1996. Please find attached the following information: 1. Field Survey Notes (8 sheets dated 9-21-96) Redpeak Engineering 2. Redlined Sheets 3, 4, 5 & 6 of the Glenmoor Drive P.U.D. Construction Plans 3. Revised Channel Cross Sections (Drainage Report) The following comments reflect the results of a field survey and various field observations made during construction: 1. West Plum Street Basin Channel The West Plum Street Basin Channel was regraded from Station 11+00 to Station 13+77 as a result of field survey. This channel was also extended 1 00'to the east to better match existing conditions. Straw bales were removed from the channel to facilitate the placing of native top soil to establish wetland vegetation and because of drainage flaws encountered during construction. It is evident that the native vegetation is already starting to reestablish itself in the channel bottom. Mr. Basil Hamden Stormwater Utility November 1, 1996 Page Two 2. Finished Lot Grading The edge of lots 1 to 4 and lots 5 & 6 are roughly one foot below finished grade as shown on the approved plans and on the channel cross sections. These lots were left low on purpose to provide room for the additional material created when excavating basements. Final grading of the channel edge will be part of each specific site plan as buildings are completed. This is typical of lots 7 & 8 which are now under construction. 3. Survey Information Feld information completed on September 21, 1996 typically runs 0.1't below the design grades for street flowline elevations and most of the channel areas. This seems to be the result of a datum difference since this change seems to occur project wide. This difference does not create a problem with the project and all street and channel grades are consistent with design grades. Based on this information, I would support acceptance of the drainage improvements for Glenmoor Drive P.U.D. and recommend the release of all building permits and erosion control escrow funds. This certification is signed and stamped and attests to the best of my knowledge that the "as -built' condition of the drainage facilities are as described above and as shown on the enclosed redline plans.
