RE: Drainage Certification for Lot 16, Block 3, Fossil Lake P.U.D., First Filing, City of Fort
Collins, County of Larimer, State of Colorado (aka 3133 Shallow Pond Drive).
Dear Ed:
On May 22, 2002, we observed the site located on at 3133 Shallow Pond Drive. The site had
been final graded.
In addition to our observation, Absolute Surveying obtained spot elevations at numerous spots
throughout the site. Please refer to the attached elevation sheet.
Based on our observation and the attached surveyed information, the site appeared to drain away
from the building. The eastern side of the lot drains towards Dripping Rock Lane and the
majority of the western side of the lot drains toward a shallow swale that drains northerly to
Shallow Pond Drive. This swale is shallower than the designed swale (about 1 % versus 2%).
The lot front drains toward the northern property boundary and the back of the lot drains
southerly away from the building into a swale. This swale was not part of the original design. As
the survey shows, there is a flat spot near the western boundary north of the swale and west of
the building which is about 0.4 feet higher than the design. In addition, the northwestern
property corner is about 0A feet higher than the design. Otherwise, the existing grading appears
to follow the proposed grading.
Our recommendations were based on our observation on the date noted above.
