RE: Drainage Certification for Big Horn. Village II, located directly east of City Park Avenue and a
few hundred feet south of University Avenue.
Dear Sirs:
On August 16, 2002, we observed the site located at Big Horn Village IL We observed the site during
a warm sunny day. The site had been final graded. In addition to our observation, RJL Surveying
obtained spot elevations at numerous spots throughout the site. Please refer to the attached elevation_
sheet. Based on our observation and the attached surveyed information, the site appeared to drain
away from each.of the buildings as.follows:
Building 1-5:
The area drained away from the buildings, typically as designed with a few changes.
• The swales located east of the building (between Buildings 1 and 2) was not as deep as
designed, however; we believe that it will still function..
Detention Pond A:
• The Water Quality Plate were not installed properly. The grading of the pond appeared to
generally conform with the grading plan. The emergency overflow has, been constructed.
Please refer to the attached calculations and drawings.
• The calculated detention volume are greater than the required amount.
Detention Pond B:
• The Orifice Plate were not installed properly — the opening in the plate is below the invert of
the pipe thereby restricting the flow even more.. The grading of the pond appeared to generally
conform with.the grading plan. Please refer to the attached calculations and drawings.
• The calculated detention volume are greater than the required amount.
Our recommendations were based on our observation on the date noted above. If you have any
questions, please contact me at the above address or phone number.
