Jay Barber City of Fort Collins Stormwater Utility 700 Wood Street Fort Collins, Colorado 80521 STORMWATER RECEIVED JUL 1 5 2004 Re: Drainage Certification for the Christ Fellowship Church Subdivision, Lot 1 Dear Jay, We recently surveyed grading and drainage associated with the construction of a new church building and associated landscape and parking lot improvements. The lot is located on the southwest corner of Ziegler Road and Charlie Lane in southeast Fort Collins. Spot elevations and as-built contours were checked at pertinent locations and compared to the grading plan to verify whether the grading met the intent of the approved grading and drainage plan. The enclosed drawing shows both the grading plan and as-built spot elevations. In general, the lot and building construction meet the requirements of the grading and drainage plan and there is positive drainage away from the building on all sides. The intended drainage patterns are met by the grading on this lot, with slopes set for drainage to fl<;>w radially outward from the building. The finished floor elevation of 4927 .50 meets the design elevation . Spot elevations surveyed in the parking lot show that the design intent was met, with water flowing to the southeast corner of the paved section. Thereupon , it transitions smoothly to the existing swale traveling east. A high point at the northeast corner of the park ing lot directs water north to Charlie Lane. The maximum variation from design elevations is approximately 0.5 feet , however, positive drainage is met throughout the parking lot. It is my recommendation that the Certificate of Occupancy be released since the Contractor constructed the building and graded the lot to meet design drainage patterns. The certification letter was done for the Christ Fellowship Church Subdivision, Lot 1. The property is located at the southwest corner of Ziegler Road and Charlie Lane in southeast Fort Collins. We recently surveyed the inlet invert and outlet invert elevations for the two 18-inch stormsewers running east-west at the southeast corner of the Church property. The enclosed drawing shows the alignment and location of the pipes. The invert in for the stormsewer was surveyed at 4918.9 and the invert out is 4981.0. Ayres Associates was not present during construction and therefore is reporting the following information per the contractor involved in the installation. The stormsewer has a minimum of 2 feet of cover and the attached drawing shows the approximate location of the grade break in the pipe. If you have any questions, please call 223-5556. RE: Christ Fellowship Church Drainage Glen, Through discussions with Dick Bivens at Barker Construction, as they were laying the 18" ADS pipe they followed the grade of the existing topography. They maintained two feet of ground cover over the pipe. As the grade began to fall to the retaining pond they followed that grade with the pipe. At the end of the pipe at the retaining pond, they encountered a gas line which forced them to lower the end of the pipe under the gas line.
