RE: 1905 Sheely Drive, Garage Permit Drainage Memo
Dear Mogen,
Engineering Analytics, Inc. (EA) has been retained by Heath and Laura Pickett to provide a
drainage memo to the City of Fort Collins regarding their proposed garage addition at 1905
Sheely Drive.
Runoff from the residential lot flows both to the north and south. A portion of the front yard
drains toward the street, and the reminder of the lot drains to the south toward adjacent property
owners. The proposed garage is to be located in the area that drains to the south. To prevent
additional runoff from this project to the south, runoff from the garage will be routed to the
north. To accomplish this, the downspouts from the garage will be located on the north side of
the garage. The downspouts will slope toward the north and then discharge into a 4 to 6"
diameter PVC pipe. The PVC pipe will be buried in the existing landscaping, pass under the
existing front wallc, and daylight to the landscape area in the front yard (several feet prior to the
public attached City sidewalk). Any runoff that does not infiltrate into the existing landscaping
will flow to the street. This should prevent any additional runoff, from the proposed garage,
from draining to the south.
