Olive B&B Applicant: Robert Parker Jr & Beverly N. Yarber Dear Mr. Hamden, (Stormwater Utility) We are currently in the planning stages of converting our residence at 400 E. Olive into a five bedroom Bed & Breakfast. We have been advised to contact you concerning issues addressed in our Conceptual Review Staff Comments letter. Please refer to this letter. K you did not receive a copy I will be happy to provide you with one. We are anticipating an October opening and it is our understanding that this process could take two months. Your expedient reply would be very appreciated. This property was a restaurant for twenty-five (25) years before it was converted back into a residence in December of 1998. a. Plans are to add five (5) gravel parking spaces so as not to create new impervious areas. The existing building was once a restaurant with approximately 1000 sq. ft. of patio area in the front and side yard. This area has now been removed and replanted in fescue grass adding new pervious areas to the property. If you will not be adding these spaces then no drainage report would be necessary. I b. The landscape design does include an area for a patio not to exceed 500 sq. ft. This will be shown on the design to be submitted with b application. Are the standard drainage and erosion control reports 1 and construction plans required for this project or can they be waived since we are not adding any impervious area? The standard drainage and erosion control requirements ' will be waived as long as you submit a plan documenting that the added impervious area is minimal. Since the patio is pervious we can mostly count that as pervious area. Please provide documentation to that affect either to ' me or to Jean Pakech our permit and fee specialist. Her phone number is 221 6375. e a c. Are there any additional fees since we are not adding any additional impervious areas? Again there will be no fees if no additional impervious area is added since our fees are based on aded imperiousness. `i 1 Let me know if you have any aditional quesions or if I can be of any further assistance. i regards, Basil Thank you for your assistance.
