Any meter exceeding 200 Amps will require CT’s. For CT’d meters, Light and Power will provide the meter socket and CT’s to the electrical contractor. CT’s cannot be placed in the transformer,
but may be located in a building mounted cabinet (provided by owner) or in the owner’s switchgear. In no case, can meters be mounted on the transformer.
All commercial services must include the following to be provided and installed by owner:
If CT’d metering, one - 1” conduit from the CT location to the electric meter.
For all 3 phase and/or over 200 amp meters, the owner is encouraged to install a 1” conduit from the meter socket to the phone room for meter reading purposes. As an alternative, the
Utility may install a cellular or other communication system at the meter and add a monthly fee (appx. $40.00) to the electric bill.
