Existing Tree Removal Feasibility Letter
This letter is intended to supplement the Mitigation Plan included in the 609 South College Basic
Development Review submittal. There are five (5) species of trees on site including: oak, juniper, crab
apple, blue spruce, and buckthorn.
As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of five (5) trees are to be removed. The reason for tree
removal is due to the remodel and new addition to the existing building located on 609 South College.
The following trees are proposed to be removed: Tree #2, # 3, # 4, # 5, and #6 (as associated with the
Tree Mitigation List on the Tree Mitigation Plan). Further explanation for the removal of these trees is
found below.
Tree #
2. A juniper tree in fair condition located on the southeast corner of the existing building to be
removed due to access to the building during remodeling and site plan updates concerning
access and drainage.
3. A buckthorn tree in fair condition to be removed due to site access and drainage to the new
addition
4. A Crab Apple tree in fair minus condition to be removed due to the new addition.
5. A Blue Spruce in fair plus condition and is to be removed due to the new addition.
6. A Crab Apple tree in poor condition to be removed due to the new addition.
A more detailed depiction of the location of trees which are being removed in relation to the proposed
site plan can be found on the Mitigation Plan included in this submittal. To mitigate for the removed
trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, replacement trees will
be provided at the increased size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins Land Use Code.
