Most of the existing trees located on the site were planted by the developer for the Bucking Horse subdivision with a few larger groupings of natural origin Cottonwood trees. As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of 16 trees are to be removed. The reason for tree removal varies throughout the site, but includes the following: A. Trees are presently dead or about to die B. Trees conflict with design of site plan that will have native Northern Colorado Species or trees with similar native Northern Colorado species characteristics C. Trees are in or within the unallowed distance of an existing utility easement D. Trees conflict with grading within root zone of existing trees for the proposed detention pond which will serve the site The following trees are proposed to be removed for the reasons associated with the list provided above: Tree 2 removed due to B Tree 3 removed due to A&D Tree 4 removed due to A&D Tree 5 removed due to A&D Tree 6 removed due to C Tree 7 removed due to A&C Tree 8 removed due to A&B Tree 9 removed due to A Tree 10 removed due to A Tree 11 removed due to B Tree 12 removed due to B Tree 13 removed due to A&B Tree 14 removed due to B Tree 15 removed due to B Tree 16 removed due to B Tree 17 removed due to B A more detailed depiction of the location of trees which are being removed in relation to the proposed site plan can be found on the Mitigation Plan included in this submittal. To mitigate for the removed Page 2 of 2 trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, replacement trees will be provided at the increased size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins Land Use Code. For trees removed which are under the required DBH per Division 3.2.1 (F)(2) of the code, additional mitigation will be provided through the addition of plant communities located in the Natural Habitat Buffers. These plant communities are intended to provide additional habitat for local wildlife.
