City of Fort Collins
August 12, 2002
Dear Resident:
The Planning and Zoning Board of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, on Thursday, September 5,
2002, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers**, City Hall West, 300 LaPorte Avenue, will hold a
public hearing on a proposed project in your neighborhood. The proposed project is commonly
known as City of Fort Collins Utility Service Center (700 Wood Street) Project Development
Plan and Plat, #16-90E.
The applicant is the City of Fort Collins, Utility Services Department. They are requesting to regrade
and expand the existing outdoor storage yard at 700 Wood Street.
The project also includes the paving of Elm Street between Wood Street and Loomis Street.
In addition, the project includes drainage and underground utility improvements. A landscaped
berm will be provided along Elm Street. In addition, a six-foot wide sidewalk will be constructed
between terminus of Loomis Street and Lee Martinez Park.
The project includes land recently purchased from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. This
additional land area will be platted to become part of the overall City of Fort Collins Service Center
subdivision.
You were recently notified of another separate request regarding a Modification of the Buffer Zone
Performance Standard to allow disturbance or construction activity within the specified buffer zone
for .4-acre of wetlands. This action is scheduled for the Planning and Zoning Board on September
5, 2002 and is different and separate from the request for Project Development Plan and Plat.
The list of affected property owners for this public meeting is derived from official records of the
Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between occupancy and record keeping, or
because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been missed. Please feel
free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have the opportunity to
attend.
Sincerely,,
/mot
