VOA Senior Housing Residences
Existing Tree Removal Feasibility Letter
This letter is intended to supplement the Mitigation Plan included in the VOA Senior Residences Final
Development Plan submittal. There are three (6) species of trees on site including: spruce, southwest
white pine, austrian pine, cottonwood, crab apple, and hackberry.
As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of one (1) tree is to be removed and 6 to be transplanted on
site. The reason for tree removal is due to the proposed development VOA Senior Residences located at
East Drake Road and Joseph Allen Drive. The following trees are proposed to be removed: Tree #9 (as
associated with the Tree Mitigation List on the Tree Mitigation Plan). Further explanation for the
removal of the tree is found below.
Tree #
9. A cottonwood in FAIR condition to be removed due to site development conflicts with
grading and noted deer damage.
A more detailed depiction of the location of trees which are being removed in relation to the proposed
site plan can be found on the Mitigation Plan included in this submittal. To mitigate for the removed
trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, replacement trees will
be provided at the size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins Land Use Code.
