Dear Steve,
Here is our response to staff comments of 7-19-90:
1. South College Avenue R.O.W. now delineated on Site Plan. Note
that 50 ft. utility easement was vacated in 1973.
2. Building Elevations attached herewith. Signage details
described on Site Plan sheet, together with sizes of
lettering, in accordance with Saturn manual. Canopy is
redesigned to latest requirements from Saturn. See revised
Site Plan and elevations.
3. The number of cars on display at the east side is reduced to
six. The entry landscaping is unchanged. Two display pads
are located to the west of the existing honey locust trees,
the planting bed is modified and expanded to act as a foil for
the Saturn 'models', and also incorporated the 'Saturn'
monument sign. This arrangement does not interfere with sight
distance for cars entering and exiting the parking lot.
The four -car display remains as before. A sidewalk link from
the front of the building to the display area is created.
4. Additional landscaping, low ground cover is indicated on plan
tying in the monument sign, two new honey locusts, which
replace 2 pine trees and one existing honey locust, and acting
as a buffer between the grass area and the cars on display.
5. There will be two 'Saturn' monument signs, as shown on site
plan. Saturn have agreed to these low ground signs, instead
of the 'pylon' design. We will raise the monument, on a low
15" concrete base, which will be adequately concealed by the
ground cover plantings.

6. An access ramp is indicated at the entrance to the FFM parking
lot, as requested at the 7-31-90 meeting.
7. Car display areas will be lit by ground mounted flood lights.
Details being obtained from John Benson, and forwarded to you
as soon as available. There will be lighting below the new
canopy-soffite lighting or low bollard lighting.
8. Handicapped parking space is created at the east end of the
parking area, which is restriped for a total of 10 cars. The
sidewalk link to the 'east' car display, incorporates a
handicap access ramp. This walk also picks up people walking
across from the FFM parking lot.
9. Comment regarding utilities noted. There is no major
landscaping in this area. However it is proposed to located
the sign on College Avenue, in the same place as the 'Empire
Savings' sign.
10. The building is sprinklered, as Note #1.
11. Motorcycles will be parked in the island opposite the
entrance, please refer to Site Plan. Bicycle parking was
considered not essential at the 7-31-90 meeting with staff.
12. Note #11 added, refers to irrigation and maintenance of
landscaping on S. College Ave.
13. Dick Rutherford, of Stewart & Associates, has responded to
Storm Drainage comments regarding surface water run-off, and
erosion control. The Drainage Report and Plan have been
revised with contours, as requested.

5 PermaditeO reflector. Super -high -purity
aluminum. Three-piece system includes highly
efficient parabola in combination with
two adjacent specular "gathering" elements.
Main reflector element is standard with
textured-specular surface for controlled diffusion
with high -intensity punch. Available with 100%
mirror-specular surface for narrow -beam,
long -throw illumination. Reflector/socket
assembly field -adjustable for horizontal or
vertical orientation.
6 Lens frame. Breakproof, heat -proof heavy-duty
fiber glass. Crisp square shape in deep -regress
design for superior lens protection. Frame
is hinged to fixture body for safe, easy
two -hand maintenance. Four captive locking
bolts secure assembly firmly in place for
a tight weatherproof seal. Matte -black finish.
7 Lamp (not supplied). Mogul screw base.
8 Mogul socket. Deluxe glazed porcelain with
nickel -plated screw -shell, spring -loaded
center contact. Factory -adjustable in three
positions for special beam spreads.
9 Mounting. Die-cast aluminum arm or bracket

ARCHITECTURAL HID CUBE: MOUNTING DETAILS

Architectural HID Cubes are available with a choice of arm (CMA
Series) or bracket (CMW Series) mountings. Both types of mountings
are fully adjustable through 1800, with deep -gripping serrated cast -
in teeth to assure a secure aiming "fix," regardless of wind or
vibration.
Universal Upper Section: Massive aluminum die casting, fully gas-
keted and bolted to fixture housing. Complete with plugged 1/2"

Arm Mount: Bottom "arm" casting complete with integral roomy
splice box, access plate and cast -in slip fitter with two 1/2" stainless
steel set screws that anchor fixture securely to any 2" (23'a" OD)
pipe or tenon (min. length: 4"). Arm -floods feature fully -enclosed,
fully protected wiring with ample leads for splicing.

SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION
Floodlight shall be weatherproof outdoor heavy-duty type in a crisp
18" sq. X 11'/a" deep silhouette with sharp cornered extruded alu-
minum body and cast aluminum thermal back parallel -ribbed for
heat dissipation. Floodlight shall be equipped with integral constant
wattage high power factor ballast (specify voltage, wattage, source)
and three-piece Permadites aluminum reflector system with main
parabola in textured-specular (mirror-specular) finish and two auxil-
iary mirror-specular "gathering" elements. Reflector -socket assembly
shall be field -adjustable for wide -horizontal or high -vertical beams.
Floodlights shall have clear, tempered, shock and heat -resistant
lapped hole for optional photocontrol (suffix PC). Also accepts op-
tional cast aluminum reposition stop that returns fixture automal-
ically to correct pre -aimed position after servicing (suffix RS).
Mounting Accessories: A complete line of boxes, adapters and
other accessory "hardware" for pole -top or surface mounting of
Architectural HID Cubes is detailed on page 01-19. For poles and
pole -top "antler" and "flair" brackets, see Section F.

tion. Four equal sections can be mounted in nine different arrange-
ments, using two (al any 90' corner), three, or all four segments to
help block "spill" light from any viewing angle .................... CM451

tection. Lens frame shall be breakproof fiber glass hinge -mounted
and bolt -secured to body for weather-proof integrity and easy two -
