Goals and Objectives
Non-native species and noxious weeds will be removed and controlled in the Natural Habitat
Areas and Buffer Zones at the Harmony 25 project site in the City of Fort Collins. The goal is to
have no Colorado Department of Agriculture List A weed species and less than 10% List B weed
species present at the project area. A combination of manual weed control and herbicide
treatment will be utilized to control noxious weeds in Natural Habitat Areas and Buffer Zones.
Weed Control Methods
Non-native species and noxious weeds will be controlled at the project site during the
maintenance period. Manual pulling of Colorado Department of Agriculture List A and List B
weed species will be conducted using hand tools on an as-needed basis to control small
populations of weed species.
All noxious weeds that are manually collected will be immediately placed into trash bags that
will to be taken to a landfill. Herbicide treatment by a licensed applicator will be completed to
control any large populations of noxious weeds in the Natural Habitat Areas and Buffer Zones.
Schedule
Weeding of the Wetlands Mitigation Area restoration areas will be completed 4 times per year
during the growing season, with weed control being completed in May, June, August and
October during the project maintenance period.
