Dear Mr. Henninger:
On July 24th, the City of Fort Collins Planning Department was
informed by the firm of Vaught -Frye Architects and Planners that
the neighborhood meeting scheduled for July 30, 1991 to discuss a
proposed Amigos Restaurant at 1015 South Shields was to be
canceled.
Unfortunately, this meeting was already arranged as to the time,
date, and location with the appropriate reservation at a local.
church. More importantly, however, the Planning Department already
notifit-d, by first class mail, the 118 property owners within the
neighborhood notification area.
Due to the cancellation, a second notification letter had to be
sent to the affected property owners advising of the canceled
meeting. Consequently, the Planning Department is billing your
firm for the cost associated with the second mailing. This amount
is $34.22 for first class postage for 118 addresses.
The Planning Department traditionally pays for the notification of
a neighborhood meeting to facilitate citizen input. However, our
budget does not permit us to absorb the cost of a cancellation
notice. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
