DRAINAGE REPORT
CAMPUS WEST TEXACO
The Campus West Texaco station is located at 1015 South Shields Street,
which is on the west side of Shields about 200 feet south of Elizabeth
Street. The total area of the site is 26400 square feet, 19404 square
feet of which is pavement or buildings, and 6204 square feet is gravel
surfaced, and 792 square feet is dirt.
There are 21780 square feet of the existing site draining to Shields
Street, and 4620 square feet of the site drains west to the John 23rd
University Center Church site.' The quantities of existing runoff are
calculated on sheet 2 of this report. The portion of the church site
which receives runoff from Campus West Texaco is a parking lot and green
area which acts as a large detention pond due to its limited outflow
through an old subdrain. We propose to construct a detention pond on
the west part of the Campus West Texaco which will have a restricted
outflow into the church site. The proposed new plan will require paving
of 6204 square feet of existing gravel surface, and the required
detention volume is the difference in total runoff between the paved
and gravel surface, based on a 100 year 3 hour storm. The volume is
calculated on sheet 3 of this report.
The outflow from the detention pond into the church site is 0.08 c.f.s.,
which is the existing 2 year ruoff. The sizing of the outflow pipe
is calculated on sheet 3 of this report.
