Proposed New Facility: Aspen Station

Site selected is located on Boardwalk & John F. Kennedy Pkwy.
Site size is: 290,388.
Actual building size: 39,383 sf.
Building size, including platform, mechanical equipment room and inspector
gallery: 43,460 square feet.
Design Architects - Merrick Engineers & Architects
Project Design is 80% complete.
Estimated occupancy date is 1993.
Proposed - new Aspen Station is a 24 hour operation which will function both
as a Station and Distribution of Mail for Ft. Collins.
Window Service will be provided from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday,
Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Full financial retail and post office box services, including a self service
postal center in the main box lobby will be available on a 24 hour basis. A
Postal representative will also be available to assist customers on a 24 hour
basis.
The new Aspen Station will provide carrier delivery for zip code areas 80525 &
80526.
There will be 38 motorized, 9 rural, 2 parcel post and 1 special delivery
route assigned to this facility on move -in.
Projected carrier routes over the next 12 years is 45 motorized, 13 rural, 3
parcel post and 1 special delivery route.
Post office boxes to be installed on move -in to new facility is 1,642.
Projected growth will provide 2,105 postal boxes.
The Main Post Office would be retained to provide retail and post office box
service and house the carrier operation for zip code areas 80521 and 80524.
The present Foothills Annex and all leased storage units would be vacated.
