RE: Estimated bill for new Post Office
Charges to' provide primary electric power to the lot corner of a new
commercial/industrial development are called Development Charges.
These charges are based on the square footage of the lot and the lineal
feet of property abutting dedicated roadways.
Charges to provide primary electric.power from.the lot corner to the
transformer for a commercial\industrial building are called Building
Site Charges. These charges are based on the loading requirements,
transformer installation and the length of primary.needed to go from
the lot corner to the transformer.
Additional Charges can apply to unusual conditions which are unique to
each job site.
There is currently .a question of whether the existing 10' x 10'
concrete vault located at the proposed entrance of the Post Office will
need to be. moved. The width and location of the entrance will
determine if this will be needed. If the vault is moved it will fall
under the category of Additional Charges for System Modifications. I
have already.quoted Merrick Engineers & Architects a minimum base cost
of $50,000 if this is required. This is based on materials needed to
replace the vault and all of the existing cable and circuits in the
adjacent vaults. This does not include an estimate of labor costs.
The_f.inal_cost to move the vault .would be substantially higher than the
base of $50,000.
I have included a copy of Estimated Light & Power Electric Charges,
Electric Service Rules and Regulations and Electric Construction
Policies, Practices and Procedures. The two booklets describe our
billing polices and regulations.

receipt of loading requirements and final site plans.
