Dear Rachel:
Staff has reviewed the revised plans for the East Vine Streets — Traffic Operations
Facility and offers the following comments:
Please refer to comments and redlined plans from the Engineering Department
and the Utilities.
Y Please specify or provide a detail on the perimeter security fence. If this fence is
galvanized chainlink, then it should be softened with a vinyl cladding. Dark
green or black are attractive colors for vinyl -cladding.
Please provide a location for the electrical transformer. The transformer must not
be placed along Linden Street in full view of the public. Rather, it should be
placed internal to the site. Please provide a symbol in the legend that corresponds
to the site plans and add a note under General Notes.
Please add a note under General Notes that above -ground utility meters shall be
5. The plans indicate that several evergreeen trees are to be relocated. Please
indicate where.
The plans indicate that several trees are to be removed. We have had success in
donating trees to the Poudre School District for replanting at the new schools.
Please contact Jerry Garretson at PSD to discuss the feasibility of moving these
trees to a school site.
The "C" fixtures on the Lighting Plan should be specified to be "shielded."

The Lighting Plan indicates that the light source is to be metal halide. Please note
that high pressure sodium will conserve more energy over the long term, and
provide the same amount of foot-candles, than metal halide. For further
information, please contact Tim Sagen at Light and Power.
As always, please call if you have any questions or concerns about these comments.
Sincerely:
Ted Shepard
