Steve - As you and I discussed, Mr. Terry Gilmore representing the SouthRidge
Homeowner' group attended the November 20 Golf Board meeting. He explained
the situation with regard to the extension of SouthRidge Greens Blvd. south
through the 12th tee box areas of SouthRidge Golf Course in order to connect to
the proposed housing development known as Fossil Ridge. I showed the Plat map
to the Board which identified the right-of-way as dedicated for the purpose of
connecting to future residential development south of the golf course. I also
explained to the Board .that I have been aware of the situation since 1986 when
Parks and Recreation became involved with the management of the course. It has
always been my understanding that someday the road would go through to the south
and # 12 would be impacted.
Mr. Gilmore asked the Board if they desired to take a position on the issue with
regard to the impact to the golf course. Board members discussed the situation
and the consensus opinion was that they are not pleased with the .fact that hole
# 12 (a beautiful and very challenging Par 3) will be greatly impacted with the
road cutting through it, and they would hope that the City and the developer
would explore all possible options. It is the desire of the Board (and myself)
that the road not be constructed if at all possible, but the Board decided at
this time to take no formal action or make a formal recommendation.
I will provide you a copy of the minutes from this meeting for your file. Call
me if you have any questions. Thank you.
- Jerry—P.
