HomeMy WebLinkAboutLAUREL SCHOOL DEMOLITION AND RECONSTRUCTION ADVISORY REVIEW - 59 91 - CORRESPONDENCE - CORRESPONDENCE-NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGDevelopr, it Services Planning Department City of Fort Collins January 29, 1992 Dear Resident: On Wednesday, February 12, 1992 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., at the Laurel Elementary School*, 1000 East Locust Street, the City of Fort Collins Planning Department will hold a neighborhood information meeting to discuss the development of the new Laurel School. The Poudre R-1 School District is proposing to demolish the existing school and reconstruct a new school for grades K-6. The new school will be approximately 51,000 square feet in size and be able to serve 550 students. The City of Fort Collins Planning Department is interested in holding this information meeting to discuss the potential impacts of the development proposal on the neighborhood. Since the School District's request will be heard by the City Planning and Zoning Board as an "Advisory Review", the Planning Department is interested in hearing the concerns of the surrounding residents. - Questions regarding enrollment, boundaries, curriculum, courses, teachers, school lunches, classroom size, or other educational services are best directed toward Laurel School Principal, since these are not development related issues. It is anticipated that the Planning and Zoning Board meeting will be February 24, 1992. After the referral to the Planning and Zoning Board, the development proposal will be considered by the Poudre School District School Board for final action. The list of affected property owners for this public information meeting is derived from official records of the Larimer County Assessor. Because of the lag time between -home -occupancy and record keeping, or because of rental situations, a few affected property owners may have been missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbor of this pending meeting so all neighbors may have the opportunity to attend.
