RE: Dakota Ridge Path
Dear Chuck:
This letter is to serve as a follow-up to our phone conversation
regarding the bicycle/pedestrian path in Dakota Ridge P.U.D.,
Second Filing.
The bike/ped path is located in Tract A. It will be maintained by
the City of Fort Collins Streets Department. The level of service
is anticipated to be minimal. Generally speaking, this means that
cracks in the concrete will be repaired. Light snows will be
removed but heavy snows cannot be removed by the small equipment
used on paths. The path will be swept if there is an accumulation
of debris, silt, dirt, etc. that causes a problem for path users.
The path is also adjacent to a drainage way for stormwater flows.
The conveyance channels for storm flows are maintained by the
City,'s Stormwater Utility. Again, the typical level of service for
drainage channels is minimal and primarily designed to keep storm
flows from backing up.
Please keep in mind that levels of service for these areas are
specifically kept to minimal levels in order to serve the entire
.City in as an efficient manner as possible. The City does not
provide service levels -for aesthetic-purposes.--If—the-developer_or_
homeowners desire a higher level of service than can be provided by
the City, then a maintenance association should be formed within
the neighborhood.
If'you have any further questions, please feel free to call the
Planning Department, or Larry Schneider, Streets Superintendent,
221-6615., or Rodney Albers, Stormwater Utility, 221-6589.
Sincerely:
