The main access will be via a full -turn access from Vermont. This access is located approximately 350 feet east of Timberline Road. The site plan shows a right -out access to Timberline Road approximately 250 feet north of Vermont. The right -out access is proposed to primarily facilitate egress by the gasoline tanker trucks. Provision of this access will not require the trucks to circulated back to Vermont and then to Timberline Road. Customers who are egressing to the north will also have the opportunity to utilize this access. During the afternoon peak hour, there may be as many as So convenience/gas store customers. Half of these (40) may desire to exit to the north to Timberline Road during this peak hour. If the right -out access did not exist, then the exit route would be via a right turn to Vermont followed by a right turn to Timberline. z Based upon evaluation of this access, the following is R concluded: W - With the right -out access, the route will be shorter than the Vermont route for half of the convenience/ W gas store customers. - The right -out access will not negatively impact the operation of Timberline Road. It is recommended • that this access be controlled with a stop sign. o - Provision of the right -out access will not F significantly impact the operation at the Vermont/ access intersection or at the Timberline intersection. This route involves a series of right Z turns. Right turns can generally be made quite a easily. • - The most significant benefits of this access are M the shorter route for northbound vehicles and a easier route for gasoline tanker trucks. cc -
