HomeMy WebLinkAboutSPRINGWOOD INSTITUTE PUD PRELIMINARY AND FINAL - 2 92 - SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS - ROUND 1 - LDGS ACTIVITY FORM (2)4' `Springwood Institute PUD Point Chart E - Business Service Uses The point chart gives credit to, and encourages the development of, mixed uses because mixed uses reduce travel to and from a property, thereby alleviating traffic congestion and air pollution - the two biggest concerns of Choice City residents. In calculating our points on the chart, we should receive points for "e. Mixed -Use". The Institute combines various specific uses that will greatly reduce the traffic and congestion that would normally be caused by a school. We are providing housing, i.e. hotel/motel facilities for our students, as well as food service, i.e. restaurant facilities. Additionally, the school manager will live on site, adding a permanent residential element - she won't be commuting to a job in another part of the city. These functions, in addition to the basic use of the property as a school, meet the intent of the mixed use requirement in the point chart.
