WEEK IN ADVANCE SO AS TO ALLOW FOR FIELD OBSERVATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF THE FOLLOWING STORMWATER ITEMS:
a. COMPACTION OF SUBGRADE
b. INSTALLATION OF GEOTEXTILE FABRIC
c. INSTALLATION OF UNDERDRAIN
d. PLACEMENT AND COMPACTION OF SUB - BASE MATERIAL
e. INSTALLATION OF EDGE RESTRAINT (S)
f. PLACEMENT OF COMPACTION OF BASE MATERIAL
g. PLACEMENT OF SETTING BED
h. PLACEMENT OF UNIT PAVERS
i. PLACEMENT AND SWEEPING OF JOINT FILLER
2. EDGE RESTRAINTS AND CURBS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR OR THE EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR PRIOR
TO PLACEMENT OF GEOTEXTILE FABRIC AND SUB-BASE.
3. INSTALLATION OF PERMEABLE INTERLOCKING CONCRETE PAVEMENT (PICP) SYSTEM SHALL FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES OF ICPI
TECH SPEC NO.18 AND FULL ICPI SPECIFICATIONS. WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED CONTRACTOR. QUALIFIED
CONTRACTOR SHALL MEAN AN ICPI 'CERTIFIED PAVER INSTALLER' HOLDING A CURRENT PICP SPECIALIST DESIGNATION.
4. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL CONVENE A PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING TO ENSURE THAT ALL SUBCONTRACTORS HAVE AN
UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THE PICP SYSTEM IS INTENDED TO FUNCTION. CONTRACTOR SHOULD DISCUSS THE PROPOSED
SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION AND IDENTIFY ACTIVITIES THAT MAY REQUIRE PROTECTION OF THE PERMEABLE PAVEMENT
SYSTEM.
5. EXCAVATION OF SUBGRADE SHALL NOT COMMENCE UNTIL AFTER THE PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING. THE GEOTECHNICAL
ENGINEER SHALL OBSERVE SUBGRADE PREPARATION AND PROVIDE APPLICABLE TESTING AND REPORTING.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD PROVIDE SLACK IN GEOTEXTILE FABRIC TO ENSURE PROPER INSTALLATION AND AGGREGATE
PLACEMENT WITHOUT DAMAGE. PROVIDE SUFFICIENT SLACK SO THE FABRIC IS NOT TORN WHEN ROCK IS PLACED. IF TEARS ARE
SEEN OR DISCOVERED, REPAIR THEM AS RECOMMENDED BY MANUFACTURER WITH NO LESS THAN 18-INCHES OF OVERLAP ON
ALL SIDE OF THE TEAR.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL, AT ALL TIMES DURING AND AFTER SYSTEM INSTALLATION, PREVENT SEDIMENT, DEBRIS, AND DIRT
FROM ANY SOURCE FROM ENTERING THE PERMEABLE PAVEMENT SYSTEM. LOOSE MATERIALS SHALL NOT BE STORED ON THE
PERMEABLE PAVEMENT AREA. MUD AND SEDIMENT - LADEN RUNOFF SHOULD BE KEPT AWAY FROM THE PAVEMENT AREA.
TEMPORARILY DIVERT RUNOFF OR INSTALL SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES AS NECESSARY TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF
SEDIMENT RUN-ON TO THE PAVEMENT. SURFACE PROTECTION COULD INCLUDE COVERING AREAS OF THE PAVEMENT,
