Box 270460 Fort Collins, Co 80527 RE: Silverburg PUD Dear Scott: Last week the City had a meeting with Tess Jones of the Colorado Department of Transportation to discuss projects. One of the projects was discussed was the Silverburg PUD being designed by your office. Prospect Road Row along this property and to a point east of the Frontage Road intersection currently belongs to the State. Therefore any access onto this portion of Prospect or the Frontage Road will require State approval and a State Highway Access Permit. Tess Jones stated that at the most the State would consider a right -in right -out access onto Prospect Road from this site and indicated that if the access is allowed, the centerline of the access would need to be a minimum of 600 feet from the centerline of the on/off ramps. The prior comment from the City regarding moving the access point on Prospect west would not apply with the access being immediately restricted to a right -in right -out. An updated traffic study will be needed due to this restriction and it is quite possible that the access point onto the Frontage Road will be needed as part of Phase I. Tess Jones also said that she had been contacted by RBD (Sear�Brown) about development of the property directly to the South of this property. You may want to contact them about what is being proposed (the City has not seen anything at this time) as an estimate of traffic volumes from this site for the access point will be needed for the access permit. As a reminder when improvements are done to the Prospect/ Frontage Road intersection, improvements will be needed to all four legs of the intersection to keep the through lanes properly aligned with the addition of left turn lanes.
